Role Responsibilities:

  • Helping our Service Users maintain their independence and dignity
  • Assisting our Service Users with all aspects of personal care such as dressing, undressing, bathing and toileting
  • Supporting with preparing and serving meals
  • Maintaining the service user’s physical environment including laundry, changing and making beds, tidying and light cleaning duties

We provide care 365 days a year between the hours of 6am to 11pm and split this over 4 shifts (Morning, Lunch, Tea and Bed).

We can offer you full or part time hours including every other weekend or one day every weekend.

Support Worker

Division: Homecare
Location: Colchester
Responsible to: Coordinator / Senior Support Worker

We are recruiting Support Workers to work in the Colchester area. No experience is necessary as full paid training is provided.

You will need to be flexible and able to work with adults who may have learning disabilities or mental health needs.

You will be part of an established family run care agency that operates throughout Essex & Suffolk.

Role Responsibilities:

  • The role of Support Worker will involve supporting individuals with a wide range of activities including access to vocational, educational and social activities.
  • Supporting with home related tasks as well as general day to day activities as required by the service user in order to meet their desired outcomes and needs
  • In addition to this, some of the individuals that we support may require assistance and prompting with aspects of their personal care.
  • Visits can range from 30 minutes to several hours depending on Service Users’ needs and requirements. In addition to this, some of the people we support require sleep in duties overnight.

Due to the nature of the role an element of travelling is required and therefore we will require drivers with a Full UK Driving Licence and access to a car.

Review Officer - Chelmsford Branch

Part Time (24 Hours each week)

Location – Broomfield, Chelmsford, CM1

Salary – £10 Per Hour

This is a key and important role within Forest Homecare and involves closely working with service users and their main carers to ensure the care and support they are receiving is meeting their needs and outcomes via a highly person-centred support plan

Purpose of the role:

You will be working closely with the Care Coordinator and care staff to maintain high standards of care delivery and customer satisfaction.

Main Duties:

  • Home assessment visits to potential new private customers
  • Assisting the Care Coordinator when required to deliver support plans, (Initial, Revised/Updated/Replacement). Completion and filing of relevant paperwork and entry onto computerised system
  • Monitoring of service delivery in initial stages including an initial review via a home visit within 1 – 2 weeks from start date of care provision
  • Home visits when there is a significant change of circumstances for the service user
  • Annual Forest Homecare reviews
  • Liaising with social care and health professionals when a change to a care package is required – for example an increase, decrease, suspension, termination of service or increase from 1 carer to 2 carers per visit
  • Liaising when required with local hospitals regarding admissions and discharges of new and existing service users
  • Attending joint reviews with Social Care and Health professionals
  • Participating in a satisfactory resolution of concerns raised or complaints made
  • Raising alerts in relation to the Safeguarding of Adults
  • Managing concerns raised by care staff – carer concern forms
  • Writing person-centred Support Plans
  • Partnership working with Health and Social Care agencies (social workers, district nurses, occupational therapists, mental health workers)
  • Signposting service users to other services – for example: `Care Call’ personal alarms, meal providers, Age Concern
  • Working with local pharmacies/chemists, GP surgeries, day centres to further support people in their community
  • Risk Assessments – personal safety, medication, environmental and Moving & Positioning (where appropriate)
  • Report writing and recording all reviews completed
  • Recording day to day actions taken regarding care delivery or concerns and ensuring appropriate staff and managers are fully informed
  • Attending internal and external meetings as required
  • Providing reports via Views of Others as requested by Social Care professionals
  • Respecting confidentiality and the dignity of service users

Person Specification:

Competent in using Outlook email, Microsoft Word and related IT systems. Knowledge of Excel is an advantage.

You will have experience of working in a social care, health or provision of domiciliary care setting

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

You will have the ability to write clear and concise reports providing accurate and evidence based recording

This role requires a self-motivated, organised, person able to work alone and as part of a team. You will have the ability to make judgments based on sound knowledge of CQC core standards, care principles and Forest Homecare’s policies and procedures

You will need to have a flexible and adaptable approach in order to manage a diverse workload and the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
